Projectile Motion:

When a stone is thrown by making some angle with the horizontal line, it follows a parabolic path
and come back to the ground. The figure will be as follows.

This figure shows different positions of the object thrown.

When xi = 0 and ax = 0, we find

So we can write, t = x/(vi cos θi)
For yi = 0 and ay = -g we get,

Substituting the expression of ‘t’ we obtain

This equation is the equation of a parabola, which shows that the path of a projectile is parabolic
in nature.
