Rotational motion:

When the concept of motion is extended to more than one dimension, the motion along a curved
path might be considered besides the linear motion. Many types of motion involve curved paths
rather than linear ones. This type of motion is already been discussed in case of projectile motion,
where a projectile moves in a parabolic path. Another example is the motion of an object in a
circular path. This type of motion includes the motion of cars in a vertical wheel to the motion
satellites around the earth. In the circular motion the speed of the object remains constant as it
goes around the circle. However the direction of motion changes continuously to maintain the
circular path.
Besides the projectile motion and circular motion, the rotational motion can occur in case of a
rigid body, which is called rigid body rotation. During the rotational motion of the rigid body, every
particle in the body moves in a circle about a single line. This line is called the axis of rotation.
Then the radius vectors from the axis to all particles undergo the same angular displacement in
the same time
